A tough regular season came to a disappointing end for the Bourne High football team last Friday, October 28 , as the Canalmen lost at home to visiting Holbrook, 30-8.

Bourne fell behind by three touchdowns early, but battled to make a game of it in the second quarter. The team put together a nice scoring drive that Ty Healey capped with a nice touchdown run. He then plunged ahead for the two-point conversion to cut the deficit to 24-8.

Early in the second half the Canalmen threatened to shave the deficit down to a single score. Ty Kelly helped orchestrate a nice drive, with Craig Hill and Healey putting in strong efforts running the ball. The drive reached the red zone, but a lost fumble proved to be catastrophic. BHS was unable to bounce back after that, and a late Holbrook TD sealed the outcome.

Bourne now enters the non-playoff game section of the schedule. The team played last night, after press time for the Enterprise, against Tri-County at home. Tri-County posted a 1-5 record during the regular season. Bourne entered the contest at 2-6 overall.
